About the song, from Byron: This song has a crazy story. I wrote it, recorded an older version alone, all the parts, and it was on a cassette album under the name of my full-time road band, Secret Agent. The album went nowhere. After one music set, I was telling some lady about the song I was writing, Pass It On. She said something like the bridge, love wasn't put in your heart to stay, love isn't love 'till you give it away. The cassette credits said, “writer unknown.” But it turns out she was paraphrasing a quote from Oscar Hammerstein, that has since been used in many songs. It's funny that Hammerstein essentially said pass it on. Then his message got passed on to me in a strange way.

Larry's drumming really grooves on this song as always, with Marta doing great percussion that you will recognize, including the Oud in the verses and wild special percussion that sounds like ocean waves. Ciara has to be one of the best bass players on Earth. Not to take away from others, but if you knew her background. You can hear it on this song ... and the way she ends it is out of this world!

And finally, the vocals of Tyler V, wow! She sings two songs on the album, and has an amazing ear for harmonies, and such a soulful, beautiful sounding voice. This song needed deep emotion, and I felt she was perfect. Not just our lead melodies, but her background vocals blew me away.

Here's an inside scoop about this album. The Emax keyboards on this song were salvaged from a decades old 4-track recording, while all other parts are new. I don't have that dinosaur Emax anymore. That favorite custom sound from the Emax was unique and probably not available anywhere precisely. Oh sure, some like it could be found. The new synths are far superior. Nevertheless, that same Emax bell-like sound is on a few songs on the album, preserved all these years on a Tascam Porta-One 4-track cassette.

Harmony Dreamers is a studio project of prolific songwriter/multi instrumentalist Byron Lee Scott, along with long-time band mate and drummer Larry Dragland. On each song are a host of top-tier vocalists and musicians from around the world, including more than 20 international backup singers on the humorous title track, I Come From Earth.
