About the song, from Byron: From co-writer Byron Lee Scott - If I could return to the Philippine people the love I received from them... the joy, the adventure, the friends, singing together... that is a dream of mine.

I wrote the lyrics while living in Philippines. I only knew that the first line is the same syllables in both languages... Butterfly so beautiful ... Paro paro kai ganda.

I met Shiruu because on the title song, I Come from Earth, there are more than 20 backup singers from every continent in the world. Of course, I had to find a Philippine representative. That's how I met Shiruu.

I told her about the Butterfly song and the idea of doing it in two or more languages. I hired her to translate my lyrics, not knowing that she is such a great musician and producer. She asked me what kind of feel I was thinking for the song. I said, I don't know, something modern, like Save Your Tears by The Weeknd."

She sent back the Tagalog version pretty much as you hear it, vocal, piano, synths, and beats. I loved her melody so much that I edited my original lyrics so that the melodies in English match exactly! We both then sang the octaves and harmonies to each other in the opposite languages.

After that I was planning to record the backing track... drums, bass, guitar, synths, etc. I still may do that. But I liked her production so much that I did not want to disregard it. So, I decided to just sing, and play real drums over her track to give it our multiple drummers sound. Then I added some special effects and percussion.

On the single version that ties the two languages together, the transition from the English to Tagalog versions is a radio-like play that captures the experience of landing in the Manila Philippines airport, then in the taxi the Tagalog version begins.

After completing the song, along with Luis "The LP" at The Hideout Studios in Las Vegas, we did the final production and mastering of these two songs.

This was one of the last-minute songs after the album was finished. Those lyrics I wrote so long ago while in Philippines were one of hundreds of song lyrics in some file. I never really thought this song would be completed. What an amazing experience.
